Lesley Stableford

Artistic Director of Transition Media Arts

A graduate in Fine Art (Nottingham Trent University), Lesley is a video installation artist, film maker and sculptor who has a particular interest in experimental and issue based work.
She has been Artistic Director of Transition Media Arts since 1997, and has worked in the area of the moving image for over 20 years. Her work has been screened at many places including :

  • The Pandaemonium Festival at the ICA London;
  • Edinburgh Fringe Film & Video Festival;
  • Glasgow New Visions;
  • Midlands Arts Centre;
  • Battersea Arts Centre;

and many other galleries across the country including The Collection and Usher Gallery in Lincoln.

 

 

 

 

Lesley has collaborated with many Arts Companies including :

  • The Resurrectionists;
  • The East of England Orchestra;
  • Opera North;
  • Cultural Solutions;
  • Gainsborough Traveller Initiative.

She was also the video artist selected by Raphael Lozano Hemmer to produce Lincolnshire's video-portaiture element of his EMDA Commission "Underscan" which was shown at Lincoln University, across the Midlands, Trafalgar Square and worldwide.

She received an Arts Council "YEAR OF THE ARTIST" award in 2000 for Video Installation "LEVEL", shown at The Usher Gallery, Lincoln and other Lincolnshire galleries.
